Logan's View on Presidency

so yesterday Logan and I were talking and he asked if McCain was the new President.
And I said, "no... it's Obama"
And he said "is that the Black man?"
And I said "yes"
And he said, "He won at my school too!"

So then I asked him who he voted for at schoool
And he said "Obama"
And I asked, "Why?"
And he said because he was black and the other guy was too old!

Crawling

Olivia is officially crawling... I'd say she started this past weekend. For quite some time she has been getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth, but now she actually moves one arm and then the other and sort of scoots her cute little legs up under her =)

Where in the world did the time go? That's all I have to say =)

Kindergarten

Logan's kindergarten pictures came! Haha! Of course I am the mom who forgot that it was picture day and some other mom thought it would be a good idea to comb his hair straight forward for the pictures instead of the messy non-brushed hair I had sent him to school with. None the less... bad mom that I am... the pictures didn't turn out all that bad. Next year I will try to remember! Ha!

Lucky for Logan he is a cute kid anyways =) Enjoy!

Olivia's First Solid Food

So... after days and days of Olivia staring us down while we ate our food we decided to feed the hungry little hippo some baby food of her own....

Here are some pictures of the first feeding.

So far she's had rice cereal, barley, and oatmeal!

Of course Tubba tubba Adelina wanted a bite of the oatmeal and her response was mmmmmmm.... Logan ws pretty happy about the whole thing too!

Earings

A few weeks ago... both girls finally got their ears pierced! Sarah Dennis and I were in the mall and we passed the jewlery store and Sarah says, "I should get my ears pierced again" and that sparked the little voice inside my head that said, "get the girls ears pierced!". So after a quick chat with Steve about it both girls got their ears pierced.

Adelina took it worse than little Olivia. She is a little drama queen =) Divalina =)

Thanks Sarah for the pic...

Random Pictures and Thoughs

Last week Adelina decided that her new favorite toy was her baby doll. I found her in her room with her baby - she had gotten out the baby wipes and had them all over the floor!!! She had taken the diaper off her baby and was wiping the baby with the baby wipes - didn't even bother me that ALL of the baby wipes were all over the floor! And to top it off, she had taken the baby doll diaper and put it into the trash can of her own diapers! So cute!!!

First Day of School

Logan started Kindergarten yesterday - he is in the Carlsbad school district, going to Calavera Hills "GO COYOTES!" - haha

Anyways, like I was saying... yesterday was his first day of school. He was soooooo excited. He woke up very early (sometime before 6:50am - when I woke up). He got dressed, ate breakfast, and was ready to go. A little to ready as I was still in my pj's and the girls were still asleep =)

When we finally were ready to go, I loaded everyone up into the car and began the journey to school. It was diastorous! No one warned me that the first day of school is madness! Because Logan is in Kindergarten, I have to walk him to his classrooom. Of course, being the first day of school there is no parking. I ended up having to park in a red zone (along with 300 other parents) on a large hill leaving the school grounds. At this point, we were late. I had figured it would take us no more than 15 minutes to get to school, park, and walk to Logan's classroom. Boy was I wrong! So here I am running up this giant hill with two babies in my arms, blankets everywhere, and a Logan not far behind.

When we finally go to Logan's classroom, it was empty! The whole school was out on the blacktop for an assembly. Luckily, this didn't freak Logan out and I walked him to his class. His teacher, Mrs. Thompson, just smiled. I kissed Logan goodbye and left - Whew! What an ordeal!

Life wasn't so difficult when I picked him up - I left the two girls at home with Brook (my helper for the summer) and Logan and I went to McDonalds for lunch. He couldn't stop talking about all the playing he did at school! What happened to the learning part? I guess he traced some letters - haha!

Well that's it for now.... today is another day and I actually got Logan to school early =) We'll figure it out soon enough!

Olivia Jean Sibiski

Olivia had her doctor check up today =) She is 4 months old, weights 14lbs and 14oz, and is 24 3/4 inches long.

Right now daddy has her and Logan and daddy are playing with her. She keeps giggling! Soooo cute! Her little face lights up and makes everyone else light up too. Maybe she'll be one of those people that can walk into a room and brighten anyones day!

Logan had his kindergarten orientation at school today! His teacher's name is Mrs. Thompson. She is an older lady, but Logan liked her. Hopeful the experience teaching will help with Logan and keep him in line while making him learn lots and lots of new things - like reading! He starts school tomorrow. He was so cute, he spent the morning coloring pictures for Mrs. Thompson and brought all three with him to the class room. She was a bit surprised to get them as it was the first day and they didn't know each other.

I will try to remember to post some pictures of the first day!

Night night!

Adelina

Hey all...

Adelina had her 15/18 month check-up today. She is doing fine and dandy. She weighs 21 lbs 2 oz -25th percentile and she is 31 3/4 inches tall - 75th percentile. Tall and skinny =)

Olivia goes on Tuesday... although she had to go today too for an eye problem. She got some antibotics and hopefully that fixes the problem.. otherwise it is a clogged tear duct. We shall see - but nothing major! We'll update her stats on Tuesady!

Summer Day at the Beach

The family and Grandma Debbie spent a short hour and half at the beach yesterday (8/19) and had a grand time! Logan and Adelina spent most of the time digging in the sand. At one point some random dude came and stood in the small hole that the kids had built and rubbed his feet in it - it was quite strange - and finally Logan went up to him and said "you are standing in the hole I am digging." Thd guy just gave us a look and walked away.... his friend was laughing at him =)

Both kids are quite brave at the beach and will run into the waves (although Adelina only goes for a second before she runs back to the shore).

Here are a few small pictures of the day...

Kids Pictures

Finally got around to scanning these pictures of the kids that were taken on May 21... seems like it's time to go do it again! Geeze... where does the time go?

I love this picture of all my kids... it's not "picture perfect" but I think it shows their personalities well...

Adelina's smiling face...

And then there is beautiful Olivia... she is so silly!

I have more pictures... but don't really have time to upload them... last one is of Logan... I love this picture!

Three? Oh my!

So, I haven't really gotten the hang of being a mother of three. It's a little hectic, mostly with trying to juggle the baby and the other baby =) Adelina wants to be involved in everything. If I'm changing the baby, she wants to be on the changing table too. If I'm holding the baby, she wants to be held too. It's rough, but cute at the same time.

I managed to finish my class that I was taking (thanks to some help from my sister) and I produced a lovely website about Olivia... visit http://pluto.palomar.edu/002539414/GCMW102/Project/index.html

Below are some pictures of the little one (and the big ones too):

Almost time

For all of you guys patiently waiting for the time to come that the new little one comes... it is almost time. I won't go into the details, but let's just say that signs of birth have presented themselves and i ahve been having contractions.. although nothing that I am rushing to the hospital to pop out about baby about... so soon, but not yet!

Logan today asked about the birth process. He said he wanted to watch the baby be born. And, I had to tell him that it might be to scarey for him to watch because it hurt mommy. He asked why it hurt me and I said because there was a big baby that had to come out of a little hole. He didn't ask any more questions after that =)

O.k... enough baby talk... well.. that baby anyways =) Adelina discovered her belly button. She loves to lift up her shirt and examine the funny litte thing and gets very proud of herself for being able to see it. If you ask her where her belly button is, she proudly lifts up her shirt and puts her finger into it... although since she has her rather round tummy she has to kind of bend over to find it... but is thrilled when she does and shows it with a beaming smile and a finger in her outy belly button!

Well... off we go still waiting (but a tad more uncomfortable than the last post) for this little one to COME OUT!

Waiting....

Still no baby... just waiting waiting waiting....

But, I did want to post that Adelina is finally starting to use some words... she has been saying dadda for a long time and used to say mamma... but stopped saying that for some reason... but her new phrase is "all done", that unless you know what she is saying doesn't sound like much... but it's a start =)

On Friday night (April 18th)... Logan split his chin open and we had to take him to urgent care to get it glued back together.... He was throwing a fit about something silly and had his hands in his pocket. Well, he threw himself to the floor on his knees and lost his balance and ended up doing a face plant on the floor, splitting open his chin!

The next morning we woke up early and participated in the MS Walk. Only part of our team showed up - go figure - but we had fun all the same. It was Steve, me, Logan, Adelina, Crystal, Grandma Debbie, and Sara Aguilar... Steve then went golfing with my dad and Nate and I (and the kids) went to my mom's house... it was then that Logan was playing in my sisters old room that he bonked his head and split his chin open again! So... in less than 24 hours I had to take him to urgent care AGAIN to get his chin fixed. Unfortunately, they couldn't do anything about it becuase of risk of infection they cannot reclose the wound! Lucky me... got to wait for a long time and pay our lovely co-pay of $40.00 for a bandaid and some iodine on a stick! That's one expensive bandaid if you ask me!

Logan is doing fine now... his chin is healing nicely. Hopefully in the next day or two it will be better=) And hopefully in the next day or two we will be welcoming a new baby into the world! COME OUT LITTLE BABY!

Names

So... we are venturing into the teritory of new baby on the way and I think we've finally settled on baby names...

If it's a girl - Olivia Jean
If it's a boy - Mason Paul

That's all for now... I'll post pictures when baby is born =)

Like Mother like Daughter

A picture is worth a thousands words....

Hair Cuts and Small Spaces

Logan got a new hair cut today! And, under the influence of his dear cousin was making lovely hand signs at the camera =) She took him to the Barber shop, which was the only way we could get him to cut his hair.... he kept refusing to let us cut it and he REALLY needed a hair cut =)

Isn't he handsome?

Adelina has this new thing where she likes to crawl into small spaces. One of her favorites is Logan's dresser. She climbs into the small opening and closes the door... she also does it in her bedroom, climbing under the changing table. Silly baby! Here are a few pictures of her climbing into Logan's dresser =)

Oh yeah! Last weekend, Adelina got her own room... our office became Adelina's room... and all the office stuff is now all over our house! Spring cleaning here we come! I'll try to remember to come back and post a picture or two of Adelina's new room...

Happy Birthday Adelina!

Adelina turned 1! We didn't do much for her birthday... but she did have a litter treat after dinner.... Here is our little one year old eating a bowl of whipped cream! YUM!

Happy Birthday Adelina!

Bunnies for St. Patricks Day?

Happy St. Patrick's Day all! I hope no one got pinched because they forgot to wear GREEN!

Today Logan refused to wear his St. Patrick's Day shirt, saying "I don't like it!" And instead wore a lime green shirt with the number 5 on it... Silly kids thought today would be a great day to pretend to be bunnies. Bunnies on St. Patrick's Day? Here are a few cute pictures from their time as bunnies =)

But the cutest thing from today has to be when Adelina tried to bunny hop like her brother.... I've put a little video here of her bunny hops. Should bring a smile to your face =)

March....

So now it's March... Adelina turns 1 this month!!! Can you believe it? Seems like just yesterday that she was born... Yikes... that means that the new baby will born in like a month.

Anyways, Adelina has learned how to climb. I found her on the couch today. She had climbed on the box that holds her Little People and then onto the couch. While climbing is good, she is danger mouse and has no concept of the edge! Ugh!!! I found her standing on the arm of the chair looking at the fish in the fish tank!

Here is a picture of her next to her brother on his chest.... Yes she climbed it all by herself =)

And a little movie of them on the box. Logan is talking to Grandma Jean on the phone.....

Here is another cute video of Adelina walking....

That's it for now... I'm sure there will be more later this month =)

Update....

So, I am not the best blog queen around. It's mostly because I am busy with everything else I do...

So here is a brief update and some pictures.

Adelina now has two teeth... both bottom front ones =) They are very cute. And, just today, she started blowing kisses back to us. Last night she tried, but only succeeded in blowing them from her ears! She also has taken a liking to walking and walks around the house... she is so little still it's so cute to see her wobble from place to place. She still crawls, but mostly only to get somewhere quickly.

Adelina talking on the phone! Gee they start early!!!!

Good morning picture!

Logan has found his way into the world of art. In addition to his new obsession with letters and words, he loves to color and cut and paint and tape and glue and anything else that has to do with creating something. He loves it so much that I have to hide my computer paper from him because he uses it all up! While I love his creativity, he sometimes drives me crazy. Like the other day he decided to cut one corner from a piece of construction paper and glue it onto another piece of different colored construction paper. He then would cut the corner of that constuction paper and glue it onto the next piece of construction paper until his whole pile of construction paper had one piece of different colored construction paper on each piece of the pile... and then he was finished and I was left with a pile of construction paper with a lack of a corner and another piece of the construction paper glued to it which he wouldn't use again. I finally had to try to explain that paper comes from trees so we can't waste it... he doesn't quite understand this yet... but I'm working on it =)

Death, Spelling, and Baby Steps

It has been awhile since I've posted anything. Almost a whole month! But, not much had changed besides a few new smiles and baby that gets bigger by the day =)

Logan, however, has recently been obsessed with death. I'm not sure what sparked his interest in the topic, maybe it is the recent discovery that my Dad has Hep. C and will be taking some medication that will make him really sick. But anyway, Logan asked me when I was going to die. I explained that no one knows when they are going to die. I told him that some people die when they are young and some people die when they are old, but no one knows when they are going to die. So a few days later we are driving in the car, and Logan says, "Mom, I want you to die in August." I was shocked and asked him why. He replied, "Because then I will know when you are going to die and I will be sad".

Today, after dinner, Logan again brings up the subject of death. And asks if I am going to be sad when I die. I explained to him that we believe in heaven and that after we die we get to go there and live with Jesus. I also said that I wouldn't be sad because I wouldn't have anything to be sad about. I don't think he liked this answer, and keeps insisting that he will be sad when he dies, because he will want to "come back down" and because " I will miss my sister!"

Logan also is obsessed with letters. His favorite show right now is "Super Why". It's a cartoon on KPBS that teaches letters, sounds, and reading with cute little characters that turn into "super hero" readers and spellers. These characters usually have some problem they are trying to solve and they go into a book to learn how to solve the problem.... which they do by finding letters that answer the question to the problem. Throughout the show, different characters use letters, sounds, and words.... its a great show!

In addition to the show, he LOVES to play with the fridge letters... he spells, makes up his own words, and even tries to figure out which letter is which and what sound they make. Drives me a little crazy from time to time, but is great at the same time.

We just got a great book that Karelle recommened on teaching kids to read. Hopefully this will help further our little scholars reading abilities!

Adelina has exciting news too! On Sunday, January 26th, 2008, one day after she turned 10 months old, Adelina officially took her first steps! Since Sunday she has taken many more steps... growing a little more confident in her new ability... like today she walked all the way from the hall closet in out living room to thr couch... about 8 or 9 little baby steps.... and she made it all the way without falling down!

Logan & Adelina Christmas Pictures

Sorry about the quality of the video.... the pictures I have so far are only thumbnails =) But I thought it was fun anyways! Enjoy....

Sibiski Family 2007

2007 is at its end, but it has been an eventful year for the Sibiski Family. We started off the year with a trip to Hawaii… relaxing is the best way to start a new year, especially when you are seven months pregnant and ready to pop!

Adelina Mae was born on March 25, 2007 at 12:23pm, seven days after her due date! She was 8lbs 5 oz, 20 inches long with lots of dark hair.

Shortly after Adelina was born, we celebrated Steve’s 34th birthday! Wasn’t much of a celebration with the new baby in town. But I think he got the best birthday present ever!

In May, I graduated from California State University, San Marcos with my Master’s Degree in Psychology. Shortly after, I took a trip to Vancouver, B.C. with Adelina. The trip was great! Getting the passport? Not so great! Vancouver was beautiful, at least what I saw of it (and that wasn’t much). I also started a new job! I work as a Project Manger for a Research/Marketing Firm named “Action Research” and I love it! Research, research, research...

In June/July we were surprised to learn that our family would be expanding (again)! The new baby is due April 18th, 2008! We are going to be surprised by the sex of the baby… after all, we already have one of each!

I celebrated my 28th birthday in October. Wasn’t much of a celebration though, mostly watching football ALL day!
Logan turned 4 on the 23rd of October. He is growing up faster than I thought possible! He is such a blessing to us, although some of the time he is a big pain in the butt (or as we’d like to say… a “butthead”).

So, now it’s December and the holiday season is well underway! We are all doing great and hoping for a great 2008, just like our 2007!
