What a DAY!

Today was one of those days.... we all have this fun cold that we picked up over the weekend camping with the Huggy Bunch in Borrego Springs. So everyone is a bit grumpy and not feeling 100%. Imagine the morning... two sick kids and sick mom and places to go! Ugh!!!!

Anyways, I finally got the children up, dressed, and out of the house into the nice new van of ours. I drove them to my mother's house because it's Tuesday and that's what I do on Tuesdays. But, when we got to my mother's house, no one was home. I had forgotten that she would not be there today because she had stuff to do with work! Ugh... and I had a 10:00 skype conference with a guy in the UK and Dr. Schultz and now I had two sick kids and no babysitter! Luckily, Randie was able to watch them for me at CSUSM so I brought them with me... but, I hadn't fed them any breakfast, didn't have any formula with me, and didn't have time to stop to get these essential things!

Although these nice set backs occured, my meeting went well and Randie took care of the children =) But then the funny thing happened and it makes me wonder if I am a bad mom. We were in the office at school, we had finished our second meeting and Logan was being a handful. He was tired, hungry, and of course, sick! So, he decided that he was going to go outside. He does this sometimes, but he just stays by the door and plays on the hill right outside the window, looking for rocks, and leaves, and whatever else little boys do on a hill. I didn't think anything of it when he said he was going to go outside. But, several minutes later a lady came in from one of the offices next door asking for me: Coral Bruni. She then told me that my son was in the office next door and that one of the faculty had brought him there. Yikes! So I went and retrieved him, feeling really bad that I had forgotten that he was outside (playing on the hill of course).

Later I get a call from Randie.... she says that as she was leaving for the day, the lady from the office next door stopped her and asked about me and my child. This is when the full story emerged about what really happened with Logan. It turns out that Logan wasn't just playing outside on the hill like I had thought. Rather, he had decided that he wanted to go to his van, so he had walked out into the parking lot looking for the van! A faculty member had found him, taken him to the office, and then they had come to get me! But...that's not all! Logan told these nice people that had rescued him that I had left him in the van in the parking lot for two hours! Yikes! Now he's telling stories to people about me leavning him in vans in parking lots!!!! Of course Randie cleared everything up, but still! What sort of mom am I to lose my child without knowing he was lost? And worse, for him to be wandering in a PARKING LOT!!!!

But that's not all... when we finally got home I had to give Adelina a bath and Logan was supposed to be taking a nap. He had decided that he wanted to sleep in my room (which is o.k. and I didn't feel like arguing with him). But, while I was giving Adelina a bath I heard noises that sounded like Logan jumping on the bed. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave Adelina in the bath to go and make him stop (and my yelling wasn't working). But finally he stopped. I figured he just got tired of me yelling at him and didn't think much of it. A bit later, I went to put Adelina in her bed, only to discover the real reason he had stopped jumping on what I thought was my bed. Logan was not jumping on my bed, but had been jumping from the railing on Adelina's bed to my bed and had stopped when the railing had cracked! He broke her bed!

What a day?

Oh, sweetie! I am so sorry! We totally all have days like that and we all know that you are an awesome Mom. No Worries, God knew right where he was :)I can only imagine your horror though. Here is the thing that makes me most sad! WHY DIDN"T YOU CALL ME??????? Just so you know I have two kids, so I have food, one is still not a year so I have formula and bottles and oh yah extra beds and a pack-n-play. I will try not to be two offended that you did not want to call and drive the extra block to drop them off as long as next time you are in that situation YOU CALL ME! Clear? LOL!
