What a DAY!

Today was one of those days.... we all have this fun cold that we picked up over the weekend camping with the Huggy Bunch in Borrego Springs. So everyone is a bit grumpy and not feeling 100%. Imagine the morning... two sick kids and sick mom and places to go! Ugh!!!!

Anyways, I finally got the children up, dressed, and out of the house into the nice new van of ours. I drove them to my mother's house because it's Tuesday and that's what I do on Tuesdays. But, when we got to my mother's house, no one was home. I had forgotten that she would not be there today because she had stuff to do with work! Ugh... and I had a 10:00 skype conference with a guy in the UK and Dr. Schultz and now I had two sick kids and no babysitter! Luckily, Randie was able to watch them for me at CSUSM so I brought them with me... but, I hadn't fed them any breakfast, didn't have any formula with me, and didn't have time to stop to get these essential things!

Although these nice set backs occured, my meeting went well and Randie took care of the children =) But then the funny thing happened and it makes me wonder if I am a bad mom. We were in the office at school, we had finished our second meeting and Logan was being a handful. He was tired, hungry, and of course, sick! So, he decided that he was going to go outside. He does this sometimes, but he just stays by the door and plays on the hill right outside the window, looking for rocks, and leaves, and whatever else little boys do on a hill. I didn't think anything of it when he said he was going to go outside. But, several minutes later a lady came in from one of the offices next door asking for me: Coral Bruni. She then told me that my son was in the office next door and that one of the faculty had brought him there. Yikes! So I went and retrieved him, feeling really bad that I had forgotten that he was outside (playing on the hill of course).

Later I get a call from Randie.... she says that as she was leaving for the day, the lady from the office next door stopped her and asked about me and my child. This is when the full story emerged about what really happened with Logan. It turns out that Logan wasn't just playing outside on the hill like I had thought. Rather, he had decided that he wanted to go to his van, so he had walked out into the parking lot looking for the van! A faculty member had found him, taken him to the office, and then they had come to get me! But...that's not all! Logan told these nice people that had rescued him that I had left him in the van in the parking lot for two hours! Yikes! Now he's telling stories to people about me leavning him in vans in parking lots!!!! Of course Randie cleared everything up, but still! What sort of mom am I to lose my child without knowing he was lost? And worse, for him to be wandering in a PARKING LOT!!!!

But that's not all... when we finally got home I had to give Adelina a bath and Logan was supposed to be taking a nap. He had decided that he wanted to sleep in my room (which is o.k. and I didn't feel like arguing with him). But, while I was giving Adelina a bath I heard noises that sounded like Logan jumping on the bed. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave Adelina in the bath to go and make him stop (and my yelling wasn't working). But finally he stopped. I figured he just got tired of me yelling at him and didn't think much of it. A bit later, I went to put Adelina in her bed, only to discover the real reason he had stopped jumping on what I thought was my bed. Logan was not jumping on my bed, but had been jumping from the railing on Adelina's bed to my bed and had stopped when the railing had cracked! He broke her bed!

What a day?

Big Boss, Little Boss

Big boss, little boss... sounds like something out of Dr. Suess. But no... it's the labels that Logan has given to Steve's bosses at work. Kurt, the owner of the company, is who Logan calls "Daddy's big boss". Steve says Kurt is about 6' 4", which is pretty tall.... but then to top it off, Kurt has a HUGE white beard that resembles Santa Claus. But this is not what Logan says, no... he says that the HUGE white beard all over Kurts face makes him look like a bum! "He's a bum daddy!!" And then there is the little boss, Jon. Jon is a little man and that makes Jon Steve's "little boss" if you ask Logan. So funny!

Walking?

Today we went to the grandparents house for some football watching (Go Chargers!). Adelina decided that she is going to walk in her brothers footsteps. Logan walked when he was barely 8 months old. Adelina is 7 1/2 months old now, and today, she decided that she was going to practice her walking techniques. Granted she was holding onto a couch, but she walked all the way around from one couch to the other.... What is it with my children? So, we'll see how she does, but she's headed down that path! Lucky me!!!!

Baby Names

Today Logan and I were talking about our new baby that will be here soon and the topic of baby names came up. When we first had asked Logan what we should name the baby if it was a girl, he said "Adelina 2" and for a boy, he thought "Tyler" was a good name. Today, I told him that we had decided that if the new baby was a girl, her name would be "Olivia Jean" and his reaction to that was... "Mom! That sucks!" You could tell that he was trying out the "that sucks" for the first time because he wrinkled up his nose and gave me that silly smile of his, not quite sure if what he said was appropriate or not and waiting for my response. He is so cute!!! What do you say to that???

For those of you who are wondering... we haven't decided on a boys name yet... but soon hopefully (although we have about 6 more months to decide - no rush!).

Logan's Future Plans

So tonight we were sitting down to dinner (Mac n' cheese, which hamburger and a salad) and Logan was talking to us. He said the cutest thing ever!!! He said, "Mommy, when I get big like daddy, I am going to find someone to marry that's just like you. And then we are going to have three kids, just like you and daddy!" I guess he has it all figured out and it sounds like a good plan to me!

Halloween 2007

Halloween this year was a lot of fun! We were kindly invited to go to the LePine's house for dinner and trick-or-treating. Logan dressed up as Anakin Skywalker from Starwars and Adelina was Princess Leia. They were both very cute!

Dinner was delicious! Jessica is quite the cook.... she made yummy homemade chicken pot pies, potatoe leak soup, and green bean caserole.... Lucky for me this baby on the way really likes potatoes because the soup hit the spot!

After dinner we got the kids all dressed up in their Halloween outfits and took them trick-or-treating. Adelina fell asleep in Steve's arms after she slurpped down a bottle (she likes to eat!)

Thanks Shawn and Jessica for having us!!! And Happy Halloween 2007!
